There is no separate exam for internationally educated nurses — the NCLEX is the same one US-educated candidates sit. What differs is everything around it: credentials evaluation, English proficiency, VisaScreen and your state board, which decides the requirements and the order.
SimpleNursing is a video-lecture subscription, not a question bank — and most disappointment with it comes from buying it to close the wrong gap. If you cannot follow the pathophysiology, it helps. If you understand the disease but misread the question stem, it will not fix that, and no amount of watching will.

The NCLEX is a uniform national exam, but California adds its own administrative sequence. You apply to the Board of Registered Nursing first, clear a Live Scan background check, then register with Pearson VUE. The Authorization to Test issues only after the board confirms eligibility.
New York regulates nursing through the State Education Department rather than an independent board, which changes where you apply and what the forms are called. You file Form 1 with NYSED, register separately with Pearson VUE, and can work on a limited permit while you wait to sit the exam.
Retaking the NCLEX is a three-step administrative process and the order matters. Contact your nursing regulatory body first, then re-register and pay through Pearson VUE for a new Authorization to Test. Your previous ATT is void. NCSBN sets a minimum 45-day wait, and many boards impose longer.
Select All That Apply items no longer use all-or-nothing scoring. Under the Next Generation NCLEX each option is scored independently: correct selections earn credit and incorrect ones subtract it. That single change makes guessing wide expensive, and invalidates most SATA rules of thumb.
Adaptive testing breaks the tactics that work on a fixed-form exam. Pacing checkpoints when you cannot know your length, a per-question routine that stops second-guessing, the three scoring models that decide how aggressively to select, and a plan for five hours of attention.
The NCLEX is delivered only at Pearson VUE centers, selected after your ATT issues. Metro centers fill fast around graduation cycles, check-in involves a palm-vein scan and a locker for everything you own, and the exam clock keeps running through breaks.
NCSBN writes the NCLEX, sets the passing standard and runs Nursys. Pearson VUE delivers the exam. Your state board decides eligibility and issues the license. Knowing which owns which stage is what tells you who to contact when a transcript, an appointment or a result stalls.
